Jie Ren

I am currently a Ph.D. student majoring in Industrial Engineering at Florida State University. I obtained my Bachelor degree in Industrial Engineering and a minor degree in Accounting both from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, China.

I will graduate in Spring 2019, and I am actively looking for jobs related to data science and machine learning.

What’s in my site?

I am posting interesting problems and useful techniques that appear in my Ph.D. study. The posts in this site are mostly with the following topics:

  • Regression/classification
  • Spatial statistics
  • Transfer learning
  • Useful Python/R/Matlab packages/techniques

Also, I will post some of my research projects which use data modeling and machine learning methods to deal with manufacturing process quality control and diagnosis, e.g., engine deck surface variation modeling, surface assembly modeling.
